When the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) needed support for a vital agreement, its leaders chose Duthie Learning to communicate with its 365 member stations scattered across the US.
The agreement would allow public television stations to transmit as many as four programming streams using a single digital-broadcast source. It would bring important new capabilities, but the issues were complex and technical. APTS needed clear, compelling communications. With time of the essence, Duthie Learning created an interactive e-learning solution to set forth the issues.
“This was a remarkable piece of work by Duthie Learning,” said APTS Senior Vice President and COO Mark Erstling. “The agreement is extremely complicated. Yet, after consultation with us and their own analysis and design, Duthie presented key issues in ways people could quickly understand. The interactive elements proved extremely effective, translating contractual terms and technical provisions very persuasively. The work was done under deadline pressure, and this interactive tool really was an important part of winning member ratification.”
Duthie Learning President Andrew Duthie said, “Our team took special pride in supporting APTS. We believe in public broadcasting. This project was delivered in under five weeks. When we accept an assignment, we do whatever it takes to meet and surpass client expectations.”
The Association of Public Television Stations is a nonprofit membership organization established in 1980 to support the continued growth and development of a strong and financially sound noncommercial television service for the American public.
