Are you able to tell how your website is being used? The popular term 'hits' means very little. As a service to our clients whose websites we host, we provide a statistics program called LiveStats. The information you can learn about how your site is being used is amazing.

You can see how many different users (sessions) viewed your website per hour, day, month, etc. You see how long the viewer stays at your site and which pages are most frequently viewed. Even more interesting is to learn how they found your site. This program shows the search engines or referring sites that were used to get to your site. It shows for some search engines the keywords that were used to find your site.

We have not been big proponents of banner ads. However, we decided to try one at NashvillePost.com because this news service appears to reach an audience our firm seeks. We can see day-by-day how many people clicked on our banner ad and came to our site. During the election many more people came to our site because more people were going to NashvillePost.com to check the election results.
